Each summer I attend the NY NOW Show – The Market for Lifestyle, Home + Gift – at the Javits Center in New York City. It’s fun to walk up and down the aisles filled with home decor, jewelry, housewares, artisan crafts, paper goods, and a whole lot more. Since it’s the gift giving season, I thought I would share some of my favorite things from the show. I’ve included items only where I know you can purchase them online.
If you haven’t finished your holiday shopping, perhaps you’ll find an idea for the perfect gift for a loved one or maybe a treat for yourself. Plus read down all the way, as I’m giving away some of my favorite things during JudiBoomergirl’s December giveaways!
For Those Who Love Jewelry
♥ You can find this Portland designer’s handmade glass enamel jewelry at www.taliasjewelry.com.
♥ If you want to sparkle, check out handmade gems at AnneVaughanDesigns.com
♥ These pieces are on the pricey side but handcrafted in Himalaya. Check them out on Etsy.
♥ Since “life is a process of becoming,” these delicate jewels are adorned with positive words. Find them at www.becomingjewelry.com.
For Some Zen Time
♥ I love snow globes, so I totally love these Zen Snow Globes. Namaste! Go to Cool Snow Globes to buy one.
♥ When I heard Taschen was publishing On Yoga: The Architecture of Peace with photographs by Michael O’Neill, I asked if I could get a preview copy. I told them I was a yoga teacher in training. It is a beautiful gift for the yogini or yogi in your life. I display it on the coffee table near my in-home yoga studio.
For Those Who Are Forgetful
♥ Do you forget where you placed your keys. Now you can easily find them with the bluetooth tracker from chipolo.net.
For Your Home
♥ I wanted to cuddle up in this hot pink tibetan lamb rug. So I did. You can’t buy it online, however I bet if you wanted to purchase one you could contact chesterfieldleather.com and maybe they would sell one to you. A perfect gift for your life after 50.
♥ While I don’t have any pets, many of my friends and family have cats. If you’re a cat-lover, you’ll want to visit www.kittyjones.com for handmade goods for cat-friendly homes.
For A Beautiful Body
♥ If you want to relax and be reminded of the beauty of the sea, give these light and fresh fragrances from Inis Energy of the Sea. Or, wait until 2016 to buy Coastal Salt and Soul products.
For Carrying Your Stuff
♥ I liked these totes because they have zipped closures and can be monogrammed at www.graphicimage.com.
♥ The colorful leather on these handbags and wallets caught my eye as soon as I turned down the aisle at the show. Check them out at www.mywalit.com.
For Wrapping Yourself Up During The Day Or Night
♥ There’s a story to these scarves. You can read about the sari and purchase one at theredsari.com.
♥ Oprah picks these pjs and so do I. They are so soft and warm. You can purchase a pair at pjharlow.com
♥ Sleeping on silk pillows is supposed to ease the wrinkles post 50. I plan to try it. How about you? Check out the pillows at Branche Beauty Sleep.

Boy, I would have loved to go to that show! So many great things. I adore those Zen snow globes, and the bluetooth key finder is a god send
Allison, hope you can attend sometime. It’s a trade show but fun.
You are looking fabulous! Must be all that yoga! 😉 Love the gifts, especially the “Let Go” necklace. Thanks for sharing!
Kim, thanks for your kind words.
The Graphic Image totes are super cute and practical!
Laura, yes they are really cute and colorful.
Oh Judi,
Once again, you are the shopper extraordinaire! I finished Christmas shopping thanks to your post including my oh so hard to buy for dad (who is always losing his keys but not his cell — hello cell tracker!) and my dearest niece who I had despaired of finding lovely pjs for as she is tall and has muscular legs from years of soccer.
Thanks for such lovely things.
Sylvia, I’m so glad you found helpful gifts. That makes my day.
I think I want to tag along with you because you do and find the most fascinating things to do that are completely aligned with what I love! I would love ALL of these items.
I never heard of that show. How much fun it must have been.
Good for you, Judy!
Cathy, you would enjoy this show. It is huge though and almost overwhelming. I can’t even make it through the entire show in one day.
I like to give gift cards
Latanya, gift cards are a great choice.
I am way behind on my shopping. I still need to get my son Star Wars Legos.
I remember the days when I had to get my son the toys he requested.
I love giving handmade gifts, like scarfs and scrapbooks.
You are lucky that you can make handmade gifts.
Great choices. Love snow globes and special Christmas ornaments.
Thanks! Snow globes are so much fun.
Judy, you found some awesome gift items. It must have been a wonderful show.
Yes it’s a fun show.
