Of course…I am watching the 50th Anniversary of the Grammys tonight…after all…it is the 50th anniversary…I said the 50th anniversary…they are celebrating 50 years…just like me…so it is fitting that I should be watching this show tonight…and reminiscing…like all the rest of the guests in the audience.

And…and…and finally there is a good awards show to watch in 2008…with music…with dresses…with hairstyles…and jewelry…to critique…to enjoy…to drool over (I hope that writers’ strike ends soon so the Academy Awards go on this year…I don’t want another fatality like the Golden Globes…I have enough to grieve about this year.)

So who is the best so far…well…no one…no one…no one can out do my Tina…my Tina Turner…even Beyonce…the 20-something Beyonce cannot out sing…or out dance…my baby boomer idol…my 60-something idol…my favorite Tina Turner…in her shiny silver pants outfit…with her rosy high cheekbones…and her shapely legs…she can sing…she can dance…she is great…just great.

Yes…no one can out do her vocals on “Better Be Good To Me”…or her chords on “What’s Love Got to Do With It”…or her chimes on “Rollin’ on the River”…she is a true legend…a real live legend…to me…to me.

Where is my iPod…I have to go to sleep tonight with all my Tina Turner songs…”Simply the Best”…another one of my favorites…or…”I Don’t Want to Lose You”…or “Let’s Stay Together”…I need more Tina songs…I have to download more Tina songs…but first…I better learn how to download music on iTunes…I better read that iPods for Dummies guide I bought a few weeks ago…I bought a little cliffnotes version and haven’t even read it yet…I better read it soon so I can learn how to download all my Tina songs…then I can sing and dance with Tina whenever the mood strikes.

While I do like some of the new vocalists…no one…no one…no one can sing…or dance like Tina…like my favorite Tina song says…she is “Simply the Best.”
